Many of us in the gaming industry are used to seeing legislators (or, “lobbyists”) on the news. Most of you reading this have probably been following the development of the gaming industry all year long, often in some form of protest, or in the hope that maybe some bill they passed will give you a few extra buck. These bills are actually pretty valuable but they always come from someone’s home state where they are in the name of public safety or other personal reason.
In the past, a legislative body would convene in a capital city and then send a letter to state legislators with a number of recommendations. For instance, the United States Congress should do X, Y, and Z and then send a similar letter to state legislative bodies in other states. While these letters were sent for each new state, there was no way to actually read their findings to anyone but the legislators themselves.
Now that it’s been a few years since you’ve been able to vote, maybe you are ready to cast an ballot for the next big thing in life: gaming. Gamers and lawmakers from gaming states across the country are united in their support for the next generation of gaming.
National Council of Legislators from Gaming states (NCSLGS) is a non-profit organization which was founded in 2007. Its purpose is to engage gaming regulators from around the country to assist in building a game industry which serves the public’s interests and upholds the social norms, while ensuring public safety and protecting children.
Join this group of gaming legislators for a discussion about how games are regulated across states. These are the legislators from gaming states that have recently joined the national council of legislators. This group is comprised of legislators responsible for gaming laws across the country.
The main purpose of the NCSLG is to assist the Gaming Industry in the drafting of a bill of agreement between the States of Nevada and Texas in regards to the Gaming Regime. Our goal is for all of you, as our viewers, to be able to have the opportunity to hear about issues within the Gaming world and understand that there is a great deal of passion with those in the industry.
Game laws have many issues that are not very common people might not even be aware about it. One may think like a common person but few of them take care of this one, which is the gaming and gambling laws. There are more than 30 gaming and gambling jurisdictions across the nation and most of them have their own gaming regulation. For instance, Nevada has the very strict gaming rules for those gaming their virtual casinos.
From the gaming industry’s playbook, we’ve learned that any gaming system can be a dangerous weapon if misused, even if it’s never been targeted at anyone, let alone a child.
In the gaming industry, there are many legislative bodies that are responsible for the regulation of games, such as the World Professional Darts Federation (WPDF), the UK Professional Darts Organisation (UKPDO), the Scottish Professional Darts Organisation (SPDO), and the Canadian Professional Darts Organisation (CPDO). If you’re a fan of competitive sport, like many people, you may be familiar with a variety of sports governing bodies.
